Let’s Talk: Taylor Swift with Emily Cancro

After presenting my research at the PIT Conference, an undergraduate research conference, I was selected to record a podcast for Pitcast’s Research Conversations about my research on Taylor Swift’s Use of Rhetoric and Symbolism Throughout “All Too Well” Song and Short Film in Increasing Fan Engagement. Tune in to listen to my discussion about fan engagement, album marketing, lyricism, symbolism, and more!

MEJO 121 Garden Story

This short video interviews 2nd-grade teacher Kelly Cancro on her inspiration for creating a school garden. Kelly speaks about how she thought her school was missing an outdoor classroom where students could go to explore, observe, and plant. Her passion for educating children’s awareness of agriculture and living a healthy lifestyle drove her involvement in the creation of the school garden.

Benefits of a School Garden Infographic

As shown above, I decided to create my MEJO121 short story on my mother, Kelly Cancro, who created a school garden at Middle Creek Elementary. This graphic informs people about the benefits of having a school garden and how it can foster learning environments.

Tarheels.Live

I created a Tarheels.Live site, which is a self-service web publishing service offered through UNC. Tarheels.Live allowed me to create a free WordPress website that allowed me to highlight both myself and my school work. My site is linked to the button to the left!

Visual Studio Code

During my MEJO 121 class, I was taught how to create an HTML/CSS webpage through Visual Studio Code. Our task was to replicate our Tarheels.Live website by writing HTML/CSS. Through much trial and error, I was able to complete the code for my webpage! Learning code is a valuable skill I learned that can be applied to my post-grad profession.
